WORKSHOP: Solidago rigida This native plant is a natural source of beautiful shades of yellow. Goldenrod is incredibly easy to grow: drought tolerant, not fussy about soil, and prolific with blooms. It's also an excellent pollinator; plant extra for the bees.

In this class, we’ll talk about growing goldenrod from seed and how to dye with it. Learn about important steps in the natural dyeing process: scouring, mordants, aftercare. Discover techniques for creating designs and modifying colors.

We'll also discuss this plant's historic use and medicinal value.

Leave with a packet of seeds and growing tips, a booklet with detailed instructions for creating natural dyes with goldenrod, and ingredients for scouring + mordanting.
